The Children’s Hospital Charity welcomes Specialty Doctor- Yinka - as Ambassador

The Children’s Hospital Charity is thrilled to announce Dr Olayinka Monisola Fadahunsi-Oluwole as an ambassador for the Charity.
Olayinka Monisola Fadahunsi-Oluwole, known fondly as Yinka, is a Specialty Doctor in Community Paediatrics and Neurodisability at the Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. Following her move to Sheffield in 2017 she has embedded herself in the community and also works as a Non-Executive Director for the Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust and as a Trustee for the Steel City Choristers.
Yinka has supported the Charity for several years now, taking part in her first running event, the Great North Run, in 2019.
Yinka has a chronic health condition which affects her lungs and joints making her running even more impressive.
Since taking on her first challenge, she’s defied the odds and has run the Virtual London Marathon, York Marathon, Leeds and Sheffield Half Marathons, the Sheffield 10K, the Charity’s Glow in the Park event and many more.
Yinka is continuing her support and will be lacing up her running shoes again for the Firehouse Fitness Mud Run on Saturday 23rd March.
Firehouse Fitness has partnered with The Children’s Hospital Charity to bring an interactive and fun Mud Run to Sheffield. Taking place at Gulliver’s Valley, this event is the perfect opportunity for corporate teams, families, clubs, and friends to come together and raise money for Sheffield Children’s.
CEO of Firehouse Fitness and event organiser Shane Beard is a fellow ambassador of the Charity. Charity ambassadors are people who have committed to raising awareness of Sheffield Children's Hospital in their highly-specialist fields. Ambassadors pledge to utilise their expertise and enthusiasm to support the charity’s upcoming events and fundraising efforts.
Yinka’s dedication to the Charity and the children of Sheffield makes her a perfect fit as a Charity ambassador.
Yinka said: “Being originally from Nigeria I had grown up seeing the devastation which resulted from the lack of prompt, affordable and accessible emergency care for children. Children are the greatest gifts, and it is a privilege to care for them as a doctor.”

Yinka’s support as an ambassador will help The Children’s Hospital Charity to continue providing enhancements that are over and above the NHS provision for Sheffield Children’s.
The Charity supports specialist treatment from head to toe, by funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment, and vital research, which changes paediatric care for thousands of children from across the world.
